The biggest efford in power has meanwhile in the past years made a 20 year-old
student. In her chosen home of Dresden at the Women's European
Championship she wants to impress the WG-Partner Elisabeth Päthz with her
good matches. After a small weak period, three from seven victories were
hers in the tournament.

Some questions for Tina:
Tina, what moved you two years ago from Chemnitz to Dresden?

I really wanted to study law and in Chemnitz that isn.t possible. Dresden
worked well, my boyfriend lived there and I already knew some people here
through participation in the Women.s League for Dresden SC.

What sort of expectations are there for this European Championship at home
and for others later?

I hope to be able to win at the EM ELO, therefore I need to
be better than my supposed ranking. Perhaps later the title of Women.s Great Master will come, or someday, to be part of the German Olympic Team.

How did preparation for this tournament run?

In terms of chess, definitely not optimally . I had to take an at-home
test for the University! It does really make a difference that I'm not a
professional player. The University takes priority, although I already
have expectations for myself and my chess. So would a trainer be helpful,
someone that could regularly and objectively watch my game.

How do you handle meeting so many strong components in the Women's
European Championship?

I'm always highly motivated. For me there are only matches for victory,
instead of ambitionless trying for draw. Chess should be fun and a
hobby, and not only a battle.

How do you find yourself relaxing after a difficult match?

In front of the television! Naturally, first after I have reconsidered my
match.

Thanks Tina, and good luck in the tournament.
