House of Press in Dresden

Henning Harms (K. J.)
Chess is the game of life and the newspaper is its stage. The actuality of the game is displayed by the newspaper Sächsische Zeitung. Almost every day they write about sacrificing a pawn or dodges, report on stalemate situations or castling and show how one gets the check mate and another one gets on a move.

Sächsiche Zeitung loves to support the European Chess Championship in Dresden. Because our reporters sneek up where life takes place.

And chess lives in Dresden! Dresden is the only German city where pupils can get there A-Level in chess. Here chess is counted among the sports for everyone where international Champions are borne and renowned events are organized.

We are happy about the European Chess Championship in the capital of Saxony and, needless to say, we will accompany the events around the Championship with our reports.

Follow the fascination of chess. Take part in the competition and the events that surround it. We will inform you about all dates in time. All our enthusiasm will also have an effect on the application fort he Olympiad in 2008.

Your passion for chess just awoke this very moment? Here is our recommendation: The chess task in the Sächsischen Zeitung helps beginners and advanced every Saturday!
