Everything in One Word: Waltraud Nowarra Dagobert Kohlmeyer |
Waltraud Nowarra has been on the board for a long time.
|
Wallraud Nowarra has been on the board for a long time.
She stems from Cottbus and came first with eleven years to chess. Waltraud Nowarra had plenty of talent and presented her first success early on. In the former GDR there was not much competition for women`s beginner`s chess. For four decades the today 63 year-old Waltraud Nowarra has been living prepared and ready in Dresden, because she had married there.
What was your greatest chess success? The win at the Zone Tournament 1966 in Warna. Edith Keller-Herrman was then fourth.
How often did you win the GDR competition? Between 1958 and 1973, seven times in total.
Do you still play actively today? Yes, with Lok Dresden on the first board and every now and then in Senior Tournaments.
As a retiree do you now have more time available again for chess? Right, but I have a grandson, and I often spend my time babysitting.
