Karin Keck (K.J.)
Since 1997 Treff Hotel Dresden is connected to chess in Dresden by a sucessful partnership based on confidence, flexibility and very good communication. With the preparation of rooms for competitions, overnight stays and logistics of the hotel the Treff Hotel Dresden guarantees smooth co-ordination of Championships and events (e.g. „Dresdner Porzellan Cup“ in January, „Dresdner Schachfrühling“ in March and „ZMD Schachfestival“ in July). Besides that, Treff Hotel Dresden is often scene of division matches in chess.
The local engagement in Dresden matches to the multiplex sponsoring activities of the hotel chain RAMADA-TREFF on nationaler level. Besides the supporting of the events for 125th anniversary of Deutscher Schachbund 2002 the hotel chain also started the first German Chess Amateur Championship RAMADA-TREFF Cup 5 hoch 3 2001/2002. The feedback was enormous so the following RAMADA-TREFF Cups 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 showed record attendance. The engagement is going to be enlarged with the Deutsche Senioren Ländermeisterschaft in August 2004.
To participate in the the European Women’s Chess Championship 2004 is a matter of heart for RAMADA-TREFF.
