This is clear: Chessfriends in Dresden are the most spoonfed in case of chess in Germany. The "Capital of Chess" at the Elbe can put a milestone with organizing the European Chess Championship in Treff Hotel Dresden.
Not only taking view of the boards of the intelligent women from all over Europe but also optical highlights will be fancied. In the rooms in Treff Hotel a lot of short victories and dramatical time troubles have been taking place and beginners in chess as well as masters have been playing games. Now the best women of Europe come to Dresden - what can be expected?
First of all there will be excitement in fighting for the title. Not only 13 long rounds tell us that everything can happen - first in ranking Alisa Galljamova can tell you this after the last Championship. The existing EC results show no clear favourite. Until now there was always another winner Natalja Zhukova, Almira Skriptschenko-Lautier, Antoaneta Stefanova and at last Pia Cramling. Besides that there were two players who have never been successful but stand at the top of the ranking list: Alisa Galliamova and Svetlana Matveeva from Russia. After all "Chess-Star" Alexandra Kostenjuk or both of the Kosintseva-sisters Tatiana and Nadezhda want to show their strength, too.
You can bet on high quality chess. More then 20 players of the EC have ELO more than 2400 – the fight is opened ceremonially on Saturday. The first moves are going to be done on Sunday in Treff Hotel.
But besides that in and around the play-halls in Dresden a lot of chess events are organized: Take a look on the events in "Capital of Chess" in Germany.
